Piha surfer Tane Wallis competing at the Rip Curl GromSearch at Gisborne this weekend (3-4 October 2009).

Wallis returned to the some fine form this weekend winning the Under 16 Boys Division. Wallis now leads the Surfing New Zealand Grom Series.

The Rip Curl GromSearch is a two event series that hunts out the best young surfers in New Zealand. The next event is being held at Piha Beach from the 5-6 December. The first and second place getters in the Under 16 Boys and Girls Divisions receive invites into the national final which is held in conjunction with the Rip Curl Pro in February 2010.
