My Grandfather, Leonardus van de Ven was a very keen 'plein air' painter, in order to get close to 'the nature'.

It was his love to get away into the forest and explore its beauty.

He had no pretentions thoughts throughout his life, to him it was all about living and giving to his family first, then the community which he truely loved. He asked for nothing in return and often bartered his works for services.

Hence, many of his works have been sold to museums throughout the south  of Holland.
