Three More Medals For Kiwi Ahtletes

Three more medals, including one gold for Kiwi competitors at the 2016 ITK Taekwon-Do World Cup in Budapest, Hungary on the third day of competition has maintained the teams steady progress in what is the biggest competition the sport has ever had. Over 1800 athletes are taking part from 56 nations.

The latest star for New Zealand was 17-year-old Alex Petrovich competing out of the SCTA Club in Palmerston North. He won gold in the junior male black belt sparring under 75kg category.

Also adding to medal tally was Frances Lloyd who is a current world junior champion. The Tauranga Girls High School student who attends the Silla Club finished with a silver medal in the junior female black bel sparring over 65kg class.

Although relatively inexperienced as a combination the female black belt team of Melissa Timperley, Courtney Weir, Courtney Church, Angel McCreedy-Pilcher and

Niketa Wells all from the Paul M Club, Papakura won silver in team patterns.

New Zealand athletes now have a total of 18 medals from the first three days of the world cup.
