Happy New Year to everyone from the team at Stardome and to celebrate the New Year and the summer school holidays they have come up with a fantastic adventure through the Solar System.

This ‘Perfect Little Planet’ show at the planetarium’s immersive 360 degree theatre will be stopping in at planets and other astronomical objects to find out more about Earth’s neighbourhood. They will also touch the plasma globe and visualise the lightning of Jupiter, and come to understand solar radiation with sun beads. There will be other fun activities and interactive science experiments to be explored.

The school holiday programme also includes interactive experiments in the Space room after the planetarium show – which is when the wind tube comes out. ‘Perfect Little Planet’ is on at 10am and ‘Wildest Weather in the Solar System’ at 1pm and 2pm.

Kids at Stardome can also have fun with the new interactive displays – History of Spacecraft and Space Tracker, and if the weather is nice they will launch water-powered rockets at the back of Stardome.

Attendees are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes early for shows, as late entry into the planetarium is not possible once the show has started.
