Physio Connect’s dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced staff are based across four clinics on Auckland’s North Shore, providing themselves in providing the highest standard of treatment and care to ensure recovery as quickly and comfortably as possible, and physiotherapy is one of their key services.

Physiotherapy can restore movement and function to anyone affected by an injury, disability, or health condition, and can help people to avoid surgery, reduce their medication, and manage their pain. Physio Connect’s physiotherapists can treat a wide range of conditions and provide quality rehabilitative treatment.

Another of Physio Connect’s services is acupuncture. Traditional Chinese acupuncture provides a communication and nourishment system for the whole body. It is commonly used for pain relief, though it is also used for a wide range of other conditions such as emotional, allergies, renal, gastro-intestinal, respiratory, mesotherapy, and immune deficiency problems.

Simillarly, cupping therapy is very much like deep tissue massage. The result is movement of fresh blood to the area, release of toxins, acupuncture point stimulation, increased circulation of blood and lymph, relaxation of tight muscles and reduction of inflammation.

Moxibustion involves the burning of Moxa, herbal wool made from the leaves of the Mugwort plant, over specific acupoints to restore balance, promote circulation and reduce pain. Tui Na massage involves the stimulation of acupuncture points with finger pressure using the power and sensitivity of human touch, rather than inserting needles. It is gentle, safe and effective for many conditions, including relief and prevention of colds and flu.

Finally, Pilates is a mind-body exercise method designed to increase flexibility while working to stretch, strengthen and stabilize key muscles in the body.  Clinical Pilates focuses on the re-education of posture and movement to address acute or long-standing pain or injury.  People of all ages and levels of sport and exercise can benefit from this approach.

Pilates sessions are an hour long each, and involve an initial comprehensive assessment of posture and movement.  Recovery times for pain and dysfunction vary by individual and depend on how serious the presentation, but the Physio Connect therapists typically see an improvement between 8 to 10 sessions.
