On Valentine’s Day, Ikoi Spa of Takapuna launched their new, relaxing Rose Bath.  This luxurious bath was a popular choice for couples on Valentine’s Day and is still available for singles or couples who want to relieve the stress and fatigue which can accompany busy city lives.

“The feedback from our customers is that they felt very relaxed after the Rose Bath,” says Michael Hu, owner of Ikoi Spa on Huron Street, Takapuna.

“The Rose Bath is a good alternative for people who prefer a water bath to the Enzyme Spa.”

The Enzyme Spa is Ikoi’s signature service, an ancient, traditional Japanese deep heating ritual.

In the dry Enzyme Spa, clients are immersed in a unique blend of rice bran, pinewood sawdust and enzymes sourced from organic fruits, vegetables, mushrooms and seaweeds grown in Japan and combined in a special fermentation process.

As the client relaxes in the Enzyme Spa, they experience deep warmth caused by microbial breakdown of the organic material.

As well as a release of tension, clients of the Enzyme Spa experience many health benefits including improved sleep quality, increased energy, clearer and healthier skin, a stronger immune system and improved digestion.

Like the Enzyme Spa, the Rose Bath also aids in relaxation and mood enhancement while soothing and softening the skin.

Rose petals have been known to exert a positive effect on your body, mind and skin and have been used since ancient times to relieve insomnia and restlessness.

“The Rose Bath is quite unique,” says Michael Hu, “as there aren’t many people doing this in New Zealand.”

Ikoi Spa’s Rose Bath can be enjoyed alone or as a couple.  Two packages are available:

‘Pamper Me’ includes a 15 minute full back or full body exfoliation, 45 minute Rose Bath and a 60 minute massage or Seasonal Facial.

‘Just for Two’ is a couple’s 45 minute Rose Bath and 60 minute massage or Seasonal Facial.
