Building a new home is a very exciting concept, especially if it is your first new build. However, choosing your builder is one of the most important decisions you will ever make – there is a lot of money involved, and of course, your peace of mind that everything is being done by a competent and trusted home builder. After their initial phone call, they will come visit you at your home or new site, and at this first consultation they will do a site survey and discuss your ideas for the project. If you already have existing architectural plans, the Craft Construction team will look at these and discuss your ideas and establish your costs. However, if you don’t have any plans yet they can put you in touch with a reputable architect who will take you through to council approval stage.

When your concept drawings have been finalised they will engage a Quantity Surveyor to put together a comprehensive quote covering all aspects of the job and once you are happy with the quote they will look at signing a New Zealand Certified Builders contract, and will at this point go through the project schedule with you.

A full set of working drawings is prepared by the designer which is sent through to council for Building Consent.  The drawings can take between 6 – 12 weeks to be processed; however if a resource or land use consent is required this process can take a bit longer. Once the building consent is released from council Craft Construction will assign a project manager who will liaise with you throughout the construction process. Also you will receive your unique logon to their project management software, so you can closely be following the progress of the build.

They will also go through the Halo 10-year Guarantee with you, so you can rest assured that you are comprehensively covered. Once the construction work is complete,  Craft Construction will include a free commercial clean for you!
