Police release name of victim in Upper Hutt homicide inquiry

A post-mortem examination has been carried out on the man who collapsed and died following a domestic incident in Trentham, Upper Hutt on Sunday night.

Police are now able to release the name of the victim. He was Patrick Lewis, aged 50 years.

Officer in charge of the inquiry, Detective Inspector Mike Johnson says further inquiries into the post-mortem examination and other aspects of the investigation are continuing.

"A scene examination is continuing and is expected to be completed later today."

An 18 year old male appeared in the Upper Hutt District Court yesterday, charged with assault. He has been remanded on bail with name suppression, to reappear on the 17th of November 2010.
