WELLINGTON

Take your 4WD for a tagalong trip through Greater Wellington’s Akatarawa Forest on Sunday 26 February with the Cross Country Vehicle Club – with the option of starting in either Upper Hutt or Kapiti.

“The 4WD Back Country Akatarawa event is a great opportunity for some off-road driving, especially if you have a 4WD that you haven’t tried out in off-road conditions yet,” says Cross Country Vehicle Club member John Parfitt.

“Driving deep into the forest is a pretty special experience and there are some stunning spots in Akatarawa Forest, especially when you get into the Maungakotukutuku Valley at the western side of the forest. We get great feedback from participants when we run this event and the club usually gets a few new members,” says John.

4WD Back Country Akatarawa is part of Greater Wellington’s Great Outdoors summer events programme. For a full list of events, visit www.gw.govt.nz/events.
