Further arrests in Masterton dairy robbery

Wairarapa Police have made three further arrests in relation to a robbery at the Colombo  General Store in Masterton on Sunday afternoon.

Officer in charge of the Wairarapa CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Hansen says Police executed two search warrants at Carterton addresses earlier this morning.

"As a result, we have arrested three men, aged 20, 24 and 37 years. Police also recovered a firearm at one of the addresses."

The trio are appearing on charges relating to the robbery in the Masterton District Court today.

A 21 year old Carterton man was arrested on Monday and has already appeared on a demanding with menaces charge.

At around 2:45pm on Sunday 1 April, it's alleged that three men entered the store, on the corner of Colombo Road and Herbert Street and demanded cash from the till.They made an unsuccessful attempt to steal the cash register but fled from the store empty-handed.
A staff member was left shaken but unhurt as a result of the robbery.

Detective Senior Sergeant Hansen says, "We'd like to thank members of the public for their valuable assistance in our investigation."
