Paparangi School, Newlands - Suspicious Fire

Wellington Police are investigating a suspicious fire at the Paparangi School in Newlands, which occurred shortly after 3am this morning. The administration block has been badly damaged as a result of the fire. At this stage the cause is not confirmed.

Police are seeking anyone with information about the fire or anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact them on (04) 381 2000.

Paparangi School Principal Susan Blyther wishes to advise that the school will be closed for the day, and requests that any parents who are able to keep their children at home today please do so. The school has no electricity or administrative facilities but will have some staff available to supervise children who aren't able to stay home.
