Red Bull Prodigy, a new program which pairs legends of the music scene as mentors, to up-and-coming musical talent from New Zealand, aka the prodigy. The prodigy spends two weeks in the Red Bull Studio creating new music. They are guided by the mentor who helps develop their musical talent, productions skills and finished tracks to new levels.


The unique opportunity will be given to six young musicians with the aim of creating and recording songs for artist’s release. The process is about sharing and learning new studio techniques, improving song writing skills, higher production levels and developing new creative practices.

Red Bull Prodigy will take New Zealand’s local musical talent to the next level through the principals of shared insight, growth and creation through collaboration.

The mentors in Prodigy are producers with considerable accomplishments, influence and experience within their musical communities. The prodigy is a developing artist with talent, skill, a great work ethic and passion and love for the music they create.

The first Red Bull Prodigy collaboration will see dance music legend, Bill Brewster, (founding resident of iconic Fabric in London and author of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life) as the mentor. ‘Chaos In The CBD’ will be the first prodigy in this series.

Having long ago cemented his name as dance music’s key commentator and historian, in-tandem building an illustrious career as a DJ and producer over the past 30 years, music aficionado Bill Brewster will be the perfect mentor for ‘Chaos In The CBD’. The brother duo of Ben (21) and Louis (24) that makes up the house group ‘Chaos In The CBD’ have been producing percussion heavy house beats as well as DJing around Auckland City since they formed in 2007, their music has quickly been recognized oversees as progressive as they have been showcased on many industry favourite blogs.

Bill Brewster will also hold an info session at Red Bull Studio on May 25th from 7:30pm, where he will hold an intimate conversation about his life, career and musical successes. This is free for public, but there is limited seating so please come early. Red Bull Studio 13 Hargreaves Street, Freemans Bay, Auckland.
