Erakovic Busy Day Ahead

New Zealand tennis player, Marina Erakovic has a busy day of tennis planned on Wednesday morning (NZ time) as she is scheduled to play her first round singles and doubles at the WTA Bank of the West Classic, event in Stanford, California.

Entering the tournament with a ranking of 49 Erakovic is the eighth seed. She takes on a qualifier, Jana Juricova(Slovakia), the 2011 NCAA singles champion from University of California in the first round of singles.

Erakovic is the second match on centre court from 11am (6am NZ time) and will then play doubles on an outside court later in the day.

In doubles Erakovic will team up with Britain’s Heather Watson where they will play Sesil Karatantcheva (Kazakhstan) and Japan’s Erika Sema.

Top seed for the tournament which has a total prize pool of US$740,000 is Wimbledon champion Serena Williams followed by top 10 player Marion Bartoli.
