LOWER HUTT

Are you interested in the arts?  Got energy and passion?

Then Hutt Valley Community Arts needs you!  HVCA covers all genres and seeks to discover and promote creative potential throughout Lower Hutt strengthening cultural identity, community well-being and Turangawaewae.  From Wainuiomata to Waterloo, Taita to Petone, HVCA aim to  always 'ask' rather than 'tell', acknowledging that communities are often the experts in what they need artistically.

HVCA programmes include drumming workshops, community parades, art making workshops, children's programmes, talks on subjects including funding applications, professional development just for a start….

The Arts Hub hosts meetings, rehearsals, writers groups, dance sessions, exhibitions, workshops and they're always looking for new artistic uses.

HVCA are particularly interested in people who represent our diverse communities especially Wainuiomata, Taita, Naenae, Waiwhetu and Pomare.  HVCA want to hear from all of our community so let’s hear your voices!

HVCA are also interested in people with fund raising experience, strategy and planning and business thinking.

Time commitment is 2.5 hrs a month for board meetings and around 1.5 – 2 hours a week for other business.

Come along to the AGM on Thursday 20th September at 6.30 p.m. in HVCA/ Farsite Gallery, Doreen Doolan Mall, 192 Jackson St, Petone and get involved.
