Further to decisions made by the Invercargill City Council earlier in the month in relation to the contract with its CEO Richard King, Council will be advertising the role of CEO this weekend, Chairman of the CEO’s Review Committee, Cr Norman Elder said today.

The Local Government Act states that Council can offer a contract to its CEO for a maximum term of five years.  The current five year contract under which Mr King is employed is due to expire and the role must be re-advertised.

The closing date for applications will be Friday, October 19 and Council anticipates interviewing shortlisted candidates in November with a decision by the end of that month, Cr Elder said.

The advertisement, position description and briefing information will be on Council website www.icc.govt.nz and www.sheffield.co.nz by the end of this week.
