South Island law firm Lane Neave has been acknowledged as a finalist in several categories in the Eighth Annual New Zealand Law Awards 2012.

“Being a finalist in the ASB Mid-size Law Firm of the Year is a wonderful honour, especially when it has been our clients who have taken the time to put us forward”  says Managing Partner Michael Wolfe. “We work alongside some excellent people in companies across a wide spectrum of industries".

“I am very proud of all of the team who regularly go the extra mile for our clients. Of note and without singling out anyone individual is Gerard Dale, one of our newest partners who has been named not only in the NICHE Banking and Finance Law section of the law awards but also in the Thomson Reuters Corporate and Commercial Law section”.

Lane Neave is committed to Canterbury and recently held a free seminar on the Christchurch Blueprint attended by over 200 affected landowners, tenants and interested parties.  The response to the seminar was overwhelming and the feedback following has been very positive” states Michael “We work hard for our clients in Canterbury and all over New Zealand and are hosting a second follow up Blueprint seminar on the 16th October, it’s about taking a leading role in our recovery and I believe this contributed to Lane Neave being a finalist in the Marsh Insurance Law category”.

“Our commitment to the Canterbury community has also been acknowledged with a finalist place in The College of Law Community Service in Law Award that recognises pro bono work…being part of our community is part of who we are.  We have members of our staff, at all levels,  involved as directors, fundraising co-ordinators and volunteers in organisation from Cholmondeley Home, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Society to the Canterbury Earthquake Heritage Building Fund”.

“The staff at Lane Neave obviously find the place all right too!” Mr Wolfe comments “as they themselves have put us forward as Legal Personnel Employer of Choice.  We have tried really hard to be there for the staff over the past two years. It’s been a time with some real challenges, but we’re a great team and we’re looking forward to our return to the central city".

The awards ceremony and announcement of the winners will occur in Auckland on Thursday, 1st November 2012.
