Hutt Valley Police continuing to investigate reports of gun shots being fired in Upper Hutt earlier today

Hutt Valley Police are investigating reports of gun shots being fired in a residential area in Upper Hutt earlier today.

Senior Sergeant Brent Murray says around 11:30am Police were called by residents in Blueberry Grove, Timberlea to reports of noise, resembling gun shots.

Damage was caused to an address in Blueberry Grove, including broken windows.

A male was located a short time later in a house in Speargrass Grove and two other males were located in an Aniseed Grove house. All three are currently at the Upper Hutt Police Station assisting Police with their enquiries.

Senior Sergeant Murray says Police are still trying to ascertain whether gun shots were in fact fired and enquiries are continuing. A firearm was located by Police but it is not yet clear whether it was been involved in this incident.

"Police are currently interviewing a number of people to help determine exactly what has occurred and this will take some time to establish the facts."
