The draw and order of play for New Zealand’s Asia/Oceania Group I relegation playoff Davis Cup tie against Taiwan has been confirmed with Kiwi No2 ranked player Dan King-Turner to start the clash against Tsung-Hua Yang tomorrow(Friday) at 4pm (NZ time).

King-Turner ranked at 357 has faced the 236th ranked Yang on three previous occasions and has a 2-1 lead, although all of their matches were in 2009 and 2010. Earlier in 2012 King-Turner qualified for a US$125,000 Challenger at the same venue as the Davis Cup tie and eventually reached the quarterfinals with the speed of the courts suiting his game.

Michael Venus is set to face Ti Chen in the second singles match. Chen is at a career-high ranking of 201. Venus is ranked at 652, but has been as high as 274 and is on the comeback back from hip surgery earlier in the year. Last week he won at Futures singles title in Australia.

The doubles on Saturday has New Zealand non-playing captain, Marcel Vos naming Rubin Statham and Artem Sitak as his combination against Liang-Chi Huang and doubles specialist Cheng-Peng Hsieh, although players can be changed up to an hour prior to the scheduled start time.

The reverse singles is set to be played on Sunday.

New Zealand has a 3-0 overall record against Taiwan in Davis Cup. The loser of this tie will play Lebanon in the first round of Asia/Oceania Zone Group II in 2013. The winner will await the outcome of the draw for next year's Asia/Oceania Zone Group I.
