AUCKLAND

Overland Footwear Re-Launches Their Flagship Hamilton Store In The Centre Place Mall This Month.

The store reopens carrying the name ‘Overland presents Merchant Est. 1948’ and will bring with it a new look store design.

Overland’s Centre Place Manager, Jessica Simpson, says her team are excited and ready for the change.
“As a team and a wider company, we’re always looking at ways to improve the customer experience in-store. Overland presents Merchant Est. 1948 is the next step in this process, and with a new look store we hope our customers will be just as excited as we are about the evolution.”

Simpson says that while the Overland brand which the community knows and loves is undergoing an evolution, it in no way impacts the quality product and service her customers have come to expect.

“Even though the store has a new look and a new name, it’s the same team and same amazing product our customers have always loved. With our summer collections arriving in store now it’s the perfect time for our customers to come down, see the new store and find their summer essentials!”

There have been hints of the coming change with Overland’s Dunedin store trialing the rebrand over the past month, with a huge positive response from customers and the general community.

It’s a new name, a new look, a new experience, but the all-new Overland pays homage to its origins. The fit out has been carefully considered to reflect the heritage and provenance of retail merchants from previous generations.

Merchant Est. 1948 harks back to the company’s founder, Italian immigrant and merchant Guglielmo Anselmi, who had a vision of bringing craftsmanship, quality and service to the shoe business in New Zealand in 1948.

With the Nationwide rebrand occurring over the next few months, the celebration of family heritage comes full circle.

Working at Merchant est. 1948 is just as pleasurable as shopping there. Overland are very proud to be finalists in the Kenexa Best Work Places Award for nine consecutive years, being overall winners in 2012.
