The OSCAR Juicer employs unique juice extraction methods to keep the vital elements of fruit and vegetables alive and, as a result, not only will people get more juice from their fruit and vegetables, the nutritionally superior living juice produced by OSCAR will last for longer. This month they share their fabulous ‘living juice’ juice recipes, which anyone can make with an OSCAR Juicer.

First up is their Apples, Celery and Fennel Juice, containing 2-3 whole apples, 2 sticks of celery and 1 fennel bulb. Apples and pears are closely related and make a sublime combination when juiced together to produce their Apple and Pear Juice with 2 pears and 2 whole apples.

Next up is their Apple Veggie Blend made from 2 cored apples, 2 carrots and 1 stalk of celery, juicing everything in the order given. OSCAR’s Beet Treat is profoundly powerful, giving people sustained energy throughout the day. Just take ½ a whole beetroot, 2 carrots, 1 whole apple, 1 stick celery and 3 cm section of cucumber and throw into the OSCAR juicer.

Beetroot enriches the blood and provides an excellent tonic for the kidneys, and the sweetness of orange juice in this recipe will help people become accustomed to the earthy flavour of beet. They need to take 1 smallish beet, 4 carrots and 1 peeled orange to make this delicious Beetroot and Orange Juice.

Carrot and Apple is the most basic juice cocktail and can be used as the springboard for experimentation. People should start by combining equal parts of the two juices and experiment until they find the proportions that suit them. Take 4 carrots and 1 whole apple, then add any other ingredients that will enhance the basic juice.

Berries are intensely flavoured vitamin bombs that are high in potassium and contain a remarkable range of other trace elements and for this juice we need 2 whole apples, 1 pear and 12 berries (or as many as you like, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries) to make this delicious Fruit and Berry Juice.

Finally, carrot and apple juice tastes even better if it is ‘gingered’ up a little to make Gingeroo, with 1 cm cube of fresh ginger, 1 whole apple and 4 carrots.

OSCAR’s low speed auger prevents natural flavours and high nutritional contents from being destroyed through friction heat, so for more information (and more recipes) please visit the website at http://www.oscarjuicers.co.nz
