Once you have chosen your preferred Auckland boudoir portrait photographer, one of the best ways to prepare and plan for your boudoir photo shoot is to view boudoir portrait galleries to see how other women have embraced their femininity and beauty in front of the camera.  This is the best way to start your planning, as viewing the results of that others have achieved will fill you with confidence and make you feel like you too can look amazing!

Some other helpful tips include considering what outfits, props, accessories and jewellery that you wish to be wearing in your portraits.  Inspiration can be found everywhere, from fashion magazines through to lingerie catalogues.  These are a great way of planning and visualising how you want yourself to be portrayed.

It is not essential to bring along a whole suitcase of outfits that you own with you to your session.  Consider bringing along whatever you feel you look your best in; whatever makes you shine inside and feel like a star!  Don’t be afraid to bring along a mix of some ‘maybe items’ to your session.  There’s no point leaving some possibly great options at home!

If you are gifting your portraits to your significant other, you may also wish to bring along any possessions that will further personalise your portraits and add an extra layer of meaning.  This can include lingerie you were gifted, anniversary gifts or any such item that has personal significance.

Finally, remember to not wear anything too tight to your session as this will cause unflattering red marks to appear on your skin.  Simply arrive in relaxed clothing, allowing your skin to breathe and avoid getting sunburnt as this will alter your skin tones and add a patchy complexion!  You can also view boudoir photography galleries to gain inspiration for your very own photo shoot and to find our more information prior to making your booking.
