One of the key parts to all the YummyMummy Fitness programmes is that you are an individual – you have your own health history, your own goals, your own current fitness level and your very own amount of time you want to spend exercising. That’s great! What exactly you need to do ‘exercise wise’ will be determined by Simone and her team when they set you up taking into consideration what you want and what you can do. This is what makes this programme so perfectly achievable no matter if you are super fit or haven’t exercised in years.

Regular exercise, at the right intensity, can help reduce back pain, improve or maintain muscle tone, reduce leg cramps, swelling and constipation and improve sleep patterns. Women who exercise regularly often feel better about themselves and their changing body during pregnancy.

As well as improved fitness, women who exercise are less likely to experience fatigue, due to improved sleep, are less anxious and experience reduced pain perception and neuromuscular tension. Every pregnant woman must take special precautions and considerations with exercise during pregnancy and the YummyMummy Fitness team will help you with a safe exercise programme during your pregnancy.

They will advise you to aim to maintain correct form and posture during exercise, and to brace your abdominal muscles and be aware of your back at all times, maintain good posture when standing, stand tall, with your abdominal muscles gently drawn in and your shoulders back, and gently drop your chin. Try to maintain this position regularly during the day.

There is no doubt about it,  pregnancy is physically demanding, and regular exercise is an essential way of helping your body cope with the increased demands on your joints, muscles, heart and lungs.

YummyMummy Fitness’ Simone has been a Personal Trainer for 13 years, having worked with thousands of clients across Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

During and after her pregnancy she saw a huge need for exercise and weight loss options for mums and with that she started YummyMummy in 2012.
