Smartway Builders are helping Tawa MenzShed create a home for their members. The Tawa MenzShed committee was successful in negotiating a licence to occupy the southern end of the Tawa Depot / Rural Fire Services building for MenzShed activities plus use of the adjoining toilets and kitchen meeting room.

As the major sponsors for the Tawa MenzShed, Smartway Builders is helping provide a home for older Wellingtonians to work on special projects and practical tasks, as well as help people who feel socially isolated. The Tawa shed will provide a woodwork space with workbenches for those not so mobile.

They also support other community projects, including the Tawa Community Garden where they recently converted a section of fence line into a pedestrian gate for garden access. Furthermore, they have crowdfunded to help Kiwi families with safe renovations.
