Christchurch Mercedes – AMG Performance Centre Enters Construction

Armstrong Motor Group are proud to announce that construction is now under way on the South Island’s first ever dedicated Mercedes-AMG Performance Centre. The success of the Mercedes-Benz brand within the Canterbury region over the past 25 years, coupled with the increasing demand for high performance Mercedes-AMG models, made it an easy decision for the investment to be made by Managing Director, Rick Armstrong.

Adjoining the current Mercedes-Benz showroom within the Armstrong Prestige dealership at 6 Detroit Place, the Mercedes-AMG Performance Centre will feature prominently. 

The site itself will feature spacing for three Mercedes-AMG performance vehicles and the Christchurch centre will be the 14th in Australasia.

“The idea is about a customer coming to our brand for the first time and particularly Mercedes-AMG, and experiencing what Mercedes-AMG is all about,” Dealer Principal John McKenzie said. “It’s a Mercedes-AMG showroom. It’s about Mercedes-AMG performance. It’s exclusive, spacious and uncluttered. We don’t expect the showroom to be full – it’s about space and intimacy.”
