Argus Tracking Database Updates to Include Increased 110km/h Speed Limit for Safest NZ Roads

Argus Tracking announced a software database update that now includes the two roads with increased speed limits to 110km/h, namely SH2 Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road and SH1 Cambridge section of the Waikato Expressway.

NZTA announced the increased  speed limit on these two roads – dubbed the safest roads in the country. According to Associate Transport Minister Tim Macindoe, these roads are part of the initial seven Roads of National Significance, designed and engineered with safety features that reduce the chance of a very serious crash.

Safety features include: wide shoulders, left and median-barriers, and two lanes in each direction. They also have no significant curves and no direct access to neighouring properties. All these factors add up to make the aforementioned Tauranga and Waikato roads the safest sections of road in the country.
