Fletcher Reinforcing supplies the reinforcing steel and reinforcing mesh that provides the strength to New Zealand’s buildings and infrastructure. Fletcher Reinforcing offers a range of New Zealand manufactured steel mesh in a range of sizes in their Auckland facility, distributing through leading building material suppliers and their branch network to construction sites and builders all over New Zealand.

Fletcher Reinforcing offers a range of range reinforcing mesh that covers both Super Ductile™ mesh in grade 500E wire and a proven range of hard drawn mesh in the sizes required by builders and contractors throughout New Zealand.

Hard drawn mesh sheet sizes and centres from Fletcher Reinforcing meet the needs of typical New Zealand applications, covering sheet sizes of 4.65m x 1.97m through to larger economical sheets at 6.15m x 2.42m. Centre sizes include 150 x150mm or the ‘step through’ option of 300 x 300mm.

Super Ductile™ is a new 500E grade of reinforcing mesh designed to withstand the forces of seismic activity and provide stronger reinforcement to concrete foundations. Super Ductile™ was specifically developed in collaboration with Pacific Steel to meet the new residential building standards requirements that came into effect in February 2012. Super Ductile™ comes in two sizes – 6.1mm and 7.5mm.

NZS 3604:2011 now states that all concrete floor slabs on ‘good ground’ are required to have reinforcing steel mesh, and all perimeter foundations are required to be tied to the concrete slab with reinforcing steel. The minimum reinforcement from 1 February 2012 is 2.27kg/m2 of Grade 500E reinforcing mesh fabric, and Fletcher Reinforcing’s steel reinforcement products meet these specific building requirements.
