Following on from last month, Post Haste Couriers continue with their advice on packaging and labelling as follows:

• Use FRAGILE stickers – one on each surface of the parcel is ideal. Post Haste can supply rolls of FRAGILE stickers at an affordable price. Remember that FRAGILE stickers on a box without adequate internal cushioning will offer little protection for your items.

Address labels & tickets •  Ensure you apply correct number of prepaid tickets to parcel, based on destination, size and weight of item. •  Attach address labels and tickets flat and securely, away from box joins, corners and strapping. •  Under-ticketing charges may apply if correct tickets or declarations are not supplied.

•  Customers using manifest or self-labelling ticketing systems should ensure parcel is correctly declared, based on size and/or weight.

•  Always include the suburb on your destination address. Some cities have multiple streets with the same name, and some streets and roads run through several or many suburbs!

Calculating an item size for ticketing Deliveries through the NOW Couriers network must be ticketed correctly according to destination and size or weight (whichever is greater). Volumetric size can be calculated using the following method. LENGTH x WIDTH x HEIGHT = CUBIC MEASUREMENT Divide by the cubic break for the ticket zone (e.g. 0.025 for interisland) to determine the number of tickets required to courier the item.

Example: L 50cm, W 30cm, H 30cm = 0.5 x 0.3 x 0.3 = 0.045m3 Maximum item dimensions include: length 1.8m, weight 25kg, volume per item 0.125m3 For more information on ticketing, packaging and labelling, see Post Haste’s Ticketing Guidelines or you can call your Account Manager, or phone them on 09 526 9170.
