Throughout  the second quarter of 2018, we have seen a decline in sales volume. In comparing the number of sales for the second quarter of 2017 and the second quarter of 2018, the sales volumes were slightly down for 2018. April 17 = 14 - April 18 = 20 May 17 = 22 - May 18 = 22 June 17 = 19 - June 18 = 11.

The total value of sales for the second quarter of 2018 was $39,305,483, compared with the same quarter for 2017 which was at $42,339,989. So not only were there less sales in this quarter for 2018, but the total value of sales decreased. However the median sale price (January - June 2018) of a Whangamata property is at $700,000 compared with 2017 which was $665,000. In the second quarter, the majority of properties sold were in the $600-800k price range with the majority of properties selling in the month of May.”
