Drainage TV has a team of registered drainlayers and qualified CCTV operators and possess over 20 years of industry experience.  The company provides drainage inspections and works over reports completed for any building project. Drainage TV offers the most professional and efficient CCTV drainage inspection. They have qualified, experienced staff coupled with the best camera technology to undertake drain services in Auckland.

Auckland's sewerage system is choking on 'fatbergs', with Watercare now spending $1 million to remove them and other blockages from the network each year. The organisation's head of water value, Roseline Klein, describes fatbergs as a "lethal" combination of fat and oil, and items such as wet wipes, sanitary products and nappies that have been flushed down toilets, sinks, or showers across the city. They are large, solid masses that cause blockages in the wastewater system.

Watercare has been educating commercial and residential establishments on what to do with oil and related products. On their website they recommend not to tip oil down the drain. Fats, oil and grease in the wastewater system can contribute to pollution of local waterways and the environment. When fats, oil or grease are washed into the drainage system – through kitchen sinks, floor drains, or toilets – they can block the sewer and may potentially lead to overflows of wastewater onto footpaths, streets, private property and into public waterways.

For households and businesses, they recommend scraping pots, pans and plates into the rubbish bin before rinsing and washing. It is best to cool waste fat, oil and grease, then place in the rubbish or waste oil recycling bin. Practical suggestions for restaurants include posting the “no fats, oil and grease” signs above sinks and floor drains, and installing grease traps that is sized to handle the grease or oil produced at your business. They also recommend arranging a qualified contractor to regularly clean and maintain the grease trap.

Drain inspections are used for a variety of reasons, from identifying blockages, the location of the drains, and checking the condition of drains to providing the required information for building consent.  All operators from Drainage TV are qualified and have current Watercare Health and Safety cards.  They have the camera technology to provide the clear pictures. Their camera can get a clear image of the smallest drainage locations with a 25 to 75mm colour camera with LCD lighting. Their mainline tractor cameras are used for inspecting council drains 100mm and upwards. For those who are building, renovating, installing a new drain, or fixing a blockage they have a range of high-tech cameras to survey the problem.

When constructing or excavating near or over Watercare assets, their approval is needed. An assortment of information needs to be provided for approval. When building over or near drainage lines, Drainage TV can provide a comprehensive Works Over Report that adheres to Watercare requirements.
