Selecting and operating the right equipment for working at height is an important part of managing a safe worksite. Generally saw horses or saw horses with planks are not recognised as suitable work platforms, as they have not been designed for this purpose. The exception to this rule would be if the equipment was purposely designed and manufactured for this use and meets a relevant Standard.

All Round Safety have a huge range of height safety equipment including full body harnesses, lanyards, energy absorbing blocks, rope grabs, carabiners, kernmantle rope and more.

Preventing falls from height is a priority for the Department of Labour and it expects that work at height is actively managed so that people are not harmed.

Investigations by the Department of Labour into falls while working at height show that more than 50 percent of falls are from less than three metres and approximately 70 percent of falls are from ladders and roofs. The cost of these falls is estimated to be $24 million a year—to say nothing of the human cost as a result of these falls. Factors contributing to injuries sustained from working at height include suitable equipment being available.

QSI equipment provided by All Round Safety is accredited by IANZ to test height safety gear to the AS/NZS 1891.1:2007, AS/NZS 1891.3 and AS/NZS 5532

standards. This means every product they make has been tested to the most stringent standards. It also means they’re more than just a “visual inspector” - they don’t just look at gear, they put it through its paces to ensure it’s fit for purpose and won’t let you down.

Having their own testing facility on site gives them the unique opportunity to take their products to the limit multiple times throughout the development process instead of relying on fewer, more expensive tests in a foreign lab. This allows them to identify and solve problems quickly, greatly reducing development costs, resulting in a better and more affordable product for their customers, so for more information on hi vis vests, safety helmets NZ and safety helmets please go to https://www.allroundsafety.co.nz .
