For all those first time tenants, Coro First National provide a quick step through on what you need to do to get the ball rolling and secure a property to rent, and your first step is to browse through their ‘Search Permanent Rentals’ link. Be aware that the house you choose may already be in the process of being let, so having a second or third choice is always a good idea.

Secondly, you should take an ‘Online Application’ for a tenancy.  You will need to upload a colour copy of your drivers license or passport, and you will also need $20 for a credit check. It pays to make a full disclosure of your situation and any references you may have from past landlords etc.

You can then wait for the First National rental department to contact you, or make an appointment to see their Property Manager. ( Property Management Department is closed on Sundays & Mondays.) They need to have your completed Online Tenancy Application at least 48 hours prior to your appointment with the Property Manager, so doing this online speeds up the process considerably. If you do not have a scanned copy of your Photo ID, you can fax it to 07 865 7490 after you have made an online application.

The Online Application for a permanent rental should be accompanied by a copy of your drivers license and written references. If you have no references because you own your own home or have owned your own home, then please supply this information. Every application requires a credit check ($20.00) and First National are happy to give you a copy of this once they get it from TINZ. Your application, references and ID will be communicated to the property owner who will make the final decision on renting their property based on their recommendation.
