Return to Paradise Hosts Australian Singing Legend Christine Anu

Christina Anu is a much loved Australian entertainer, best known for singing My Island Home at the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics. She recently to Return to Paradise Resort on a private visit with her family to celebrate the 60th birthday of her older sister Carol.

At the Wednesday Fia Fia cultural show, Christine agreed to sing in front of the capacity crowd just before the Resort’s famous Fire Dancing Show. She enthralled staff and guests alike by singing My Island Home which she dedicated to her sister and also to the people of Samoa. “The words of this song are so appropriate to all of you living here in Paradise,” she said as she introduced the song.

Christine’s version of My Island Home is recognised in Australia as such a national treasure that the recording has now been deposited in the Australian National Archives.

”Christine’s performance was very moving and brought tears to our eyes,” says Resort General Manager Ramona Sua Pale. “She has a powerful voice and a beautiful spirit, all my family of staff have fallen in love with her.”
