TAURANGA

EUFA Finance Spokesman Gray Eatwell has been convinced by people in Tauranga to stand as an independent candidate in the upcoming general election.

Representing EUFA as finance spokesman Mr Eatwell has addressed some thousands of cheated investors from Whangarei to Invercargill throughout the EUFA RECOVERY ROAD SHOW. Tauranga has sadly been exposed by the draft EUFA RECOVERY ROAD SHOW report, as the area most targeted by Finance Industry predators.

As is Gray Eatwell’s track record of more than a decade, he has exposed the basic fact that the Government and indeed the Parliamentary process has failed to provide New Zealanders with their fundamental right to protection from unscrupulous commercial practices. The Chief Human Rights Commissioner attests to this fact in his case.

The Eatwell family farming business was crushed by the unethical and “unacceptable financial activities” of their bank in the 1990s causing him to fight for the basic right to an effective remedy, (a fair hearing) for what he exposed as a complex financial scam that ultimately took his business down.

In 2001 he published a book about it, (“You can Bank on it”) while over recent months he has shared his experiences of the political stonewall that has allowed New Zealanders to be constantly ripped off by con artists, with the many New Zealander’s who attended the nationwide EUFA meetings.

Gray Eatwell stands for Justice deliverance and democracy as promised in Article 21 of the Universal Declaration Human Rights, “the will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government”. From his experiences seeking his natural rights from Government and petitioning the House of Representatives he concludes that MMP Governments have become divorced from many of the fundamental democratic principles fought for at war and declared by the United Nations in 1948.

For instance he says, “Where does it say referenda supported by 93% and/or 86% of the people shall NOT be the basis of the authority of government?”

Gray Eatwell believes Decent hardworking New Zealanders from all socio economic backgrounds have become the servants of the political parties. He says “We are sick of funding politician’s fixations of satisfying their personal agendas at our expense. That is why the people of Tauranga don’t trust party politics any more, particularly after seeing their MP Bob Clarkson driven out of Parliament by what he calls the ”shenanigans” and “dishonesty” of his caucus. “

Mr. Eatwell said, “People in Tauranga are telling me they voted for Bob Clarkson because he was a business man, a real bloke, not some university trained career politician who is out of touch with the real world”.

Gray Eatwell believes that we need to return to basics – Government for the people by the people – not the current system of Government for the Politicians PAID FOR and suffered by the people.
