Taranaki realtor Glenn Green, today named Number One Sales Consultant in Harcourts’ Wellington region for an impressive third year a row, has just had his best month ever and is full of confidence about the real estate market this year.

Mr Green, who is based at the Harcourts Bell Block office just North of New Plymouth, commenced his real estate career when he was just 20 years old and has been a star performer ever since, last year being named number four in Harcourts New Zealand and sixth internationally in the Harcourts group – a remarkable achievement given he focuses exclusively on a community containing just 1500 houses.

Mr Green who says he is confident the market can only improve on last year and reports he wrote a personal best of 17 unconditional sales in April, was honoured today at an end of year awards function held by Harcourts at Westpac Stadium to celebrate the 2008/09 achievements of the top individuals and offices in group’s Wellington region, which encompasses Wellington, the Hutt Valley, Kapiti Coast, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Wanganui and Wairarapa plus parts of the Central Plateau and East Coast districts and includes around 300 Harcourts sales consultants.

At the event Harcourts also announced that Marianne Tavenier from Harcourts Paraparaumu and Lisa Ratahi from Harcourts Hawera were number two and three respectively in Harcourts’ Wellington region. In addition John Scott from Harcourts Fielding was today named Harcourts Top Rural Sales Consultant in the region for the year ended 31 March 2009, while Bruce Woodhead from Harcourts New Plymouth was again named Harcourts Top Commercial Sales Consultant in the Wellington region and Mike Ledger from Harcourts Upper Hutt was named Rising Star of the Year.

Harcourts New Zealand CEO Bryan Thomson says Mr Green’s passion and drive have been evident since he first started out in the real estate industry in early 2000 with Harcourts franchise Taranaki Property Specialists Ltd.

“Glenn has an abundance of energy and enthusiasm and he combines that with passion, drive and his growing body of knowledge and experience to achieve considerable success in his local market. He just continues to go from strength to strength and is definitely a star of the industry.”
Mr Green says it is “awesome” to have been named No. 1 in Harcourts’ Wellington region again.

“Last year was a tough year, but I just kept doing the basics right,” he says. “Primarily it’s about communication and relationship-building, with the focus being on educating sellers and buyers about the market.”

Mr Green, who says he couldn’t have had a better start to this financial year, has just taken on an additional employee – boosting Team Green to four, including his mother Lynn who is a very successful realtor herself.

“I’m really proud of what we achieved last year, dominating during the downturn and setting ourselves up really well for the market to improve – which I’m confident it will,” he says. “In fact last month was my best ever and I’m so positive about growing my business I’ve just taken on another support person.”

Today’s Wellington Region End of Year Awards was the last of four regional awards functions Harcourts has held around the country this week prior to the group’s highly anticipated National Awards function at Harcourts’ annual conference, which this year is being held in Auckland from 18 – 20 May.

No. 2 in Harcourts’ Wellington region in 2008/09: Marianne Tavenier

Originally working as a PA to an experienced sales consultant she quickly progressed and was named Rookie of the Year in Harcourts’ Wellington region for 2007/08. Since then she has continued to excel, with her zest for life and constant focus on communication and relationship-building being key strengths. Lisa is supported by her mother Christine, who joined her business in January 2008.

Top Rural Sales Consultant in Harcourts’ Wellington region in 2008/09: John Scott
John Scott is a successful rural and lifestyle sales consultant who also fulfills the role of Rural Sales Manager at Harcourts Wakelin Real Estate Ltd’s Feilding office. A former dairy farmer with experience in beef and sheep fattening and running an agricultural contracting business too, John is a consistent performer who has been with Harcourts since May 2004. In addition to leading the Harcourts Feilding rural team he puts his considerable skills, knowledge and experience to use for an extensive client base in the Manawatu, where he is involved in marketing and sales of the full spectrum of rural properties from small lifestyle blocks to large economic units.

Top Commercial Sales Consultant in Harcourts’ Wellington region in 2008/09: Bruce Woodhead
Bruce Woodhead has been involved in commercial, industrial and retail real estate sales and leasing for more than 20 years and is one of Harcourts most successful in this specialist field. Based in Harcourts New Plymouth office, which is operated by Taranaki Property Specialists Ltd, he has a proven reputation in the region for his expertise and the results he achieves. Mr Woodhead, who joined Harcourts in May 1999, is regularly amongst the top commercial sales consultants in Harcourts New Zealand, including being named number two commercial sales consultant in the country last year.

Rising Star of the Year in Harcourts’ Wellington region in 2008/09: Mike Ledger
A former policeman with many years’ involvement in residential building too, Mike Ledger has formed a dynamic real estate team with his wife Tania, a former international flight attendant with a passion for interior design and landscaping. Based in the Upper Hutt office operated by Harcourts Kapiti Horowhenua Realty Ltd, Mike and Tania have a varied and growing range of clients and work in all segments of the residential market.
