The North Island leg of New Zealand’s largest rural equipment and vehicle auction is scheduled to take place at Aratiatia Station in Taupo later this month.

Turners Auctions will put around 300 items under the hammer as part of its annual clearance auction on behalf of State-Owned Enterprise, Landcorp Farming. The catalogue of assets up for sale this year comprises more than 70 vehicles, including 40 Honda quad bikes, 10 tractors and 8 Toyota Hilux Utes, as well as a raft of farming equipment including:

· Weight scales

· Deer crush

· Farm trailers

· Fertiliser spreaders.

Jason Tredgett, from Turners Auctions says Turners’ two annual Landcorp Auctions are the largest of their kind in the country and are hugely popular. The North Island auction is expected to attract more than 300 bidders from around the country.

While this year’s auction is being held later than usual, it will still take place, come rain or shine, at Aratiatia Station, Taupo. And for the first time in the auction’s 20 year history, bidders will be able to bid for many of the items online from anywhere in the country using Turners’ web-based bidding software, Turners Live.

“For bidders with a keen eye for an opportunity, this auction is perfect. Last year everything sold and we expect the same level of interest this year. Commercial farmers, lifestyle farmers or simply anyone wanting quality farm equipment or vehicles should come along or head online to see what’s available,” says Tredgett.

“The items are in good honest used condition and have been regularly serviced and maintained,” he says.

The full catalogue of auction lots will be found at www.turners.co.nz on the 19th of July, the Monday before auction day. Prior to the catalogue being published, interested parties are encouraged to contact Turners General Goods branch in Auckland for more information. Viewing prior to the auction is welcomed on Tuesday 20 July and again on the morning of the auction.

The auction will be held at 10.00am, at Landcorp’s Aratiatia Station, 164 Aratiatia Road, RD2, Taupo, on Wednesday 21st July. Online bidding will be available to those who have pre-registered on Turners Live
