Vidal Chardonnay On Top Again

Vidal Estate has been awarded a trophy for Champion Chardonnay at the 2011 Royal Easter Show Wine Awards dinner held last night.

The trophy was for the Vidal Reserve Chardonnay 2009, a wine of outstanding pedigree. In the last nine years, different vintages of this wine have won over 25 top awards including two trophies and a listing as 'Outstanding Quality' in Michael Coopers Buyers Guide 2011.

Vidal Winemaker Hugh Crichton was delighted with the win: "Vidal has had a consistent and outstanding record with Chardonnay and I'm very pleased to see this continued success".

"We were equally thrilled with news of our gold awards for the Marlborough Riesling 2010 and the Reserve Hawkes Bay Syrah 07, another of our wines with legendary pedigree and the sought after Tri-nations trophy to its name," said Hugh.
