Cannes jurors let hair down, and opinions out
LIVIN' IT UP: Kiwi creatives Simon Vicars [left] and Jose Alomajan get in some beach-time having finished their Cannes Lions jury duty for the week.
The Cannes waterfront may look like the ultimate place to relax but today was only the first chance Kiwi creatives Jose Alomajan and Simon Vicars have had to enjoy the sun and sand after a solid week of judging Lion award entries.
It hasn't been a fruitful week for New Zealand agencies - just three Bronze Lions for Colenso BBDO as opposed to 22 Lions at this same stage of the week last year.
The pair sat up from their deck chairs at Google's beachside "Creative Sandbox" exhibition to talk exclusively with BusinessDay about the jury experience and their thoughts on Kiwi advertising.
