Prime Minister, John Key lent his support to Surf Life Saving’s National Jandal Day today joining surf lifeguards for a photo this afternoon in Cambridge.

Over 1500 lifeguards have hit the streets today to raise money to help lifeguards save more lives on New Zealand’s beaches this summer.

Donations received will go to Surf Life Saving clubs throughout the country allowing them to train more lifeguards, increase patrols and buy essential equipment to help save lives and prevent injuries.

It’s not too late to lend your support, simply text SWIM to 4463 to make an instant $3 donation, make an online donation at or purchase a NJD keyring at any Countdown supermarket for $3.
