A further contract has been let to complete the development of the Kerikeri Sports Complex on the Waipapa Road/Heritage Bypass junction at Kerikeri.

The $1,350,874 contract for civil and siteworks has gone to HEB Construction Ltd. It follows a $1.8 million design and build contract let earlier this month to T.W. Henwood Builders Ltd for the construction of a multi-code clubrooms and associated facilities.

The contracts are expected to be completed in time for the new facilities to be available for use by sports codes in the 2010 winter season.

The HEB Construction contract includes provision for nine (9) netball courts, earthworks, fencing, car and bus parking, footpaths and the construction of a building platform for the new clubrooms.

Jointly the two contracts will complete the development of the new sports fields. Funding for the project includes a $500,000 contribution from the Northland Regional Council's Regional Recreation Fund.
