"Our national presence has been strengthened by these key appointments" said National Managing Partner Jared Ormsby, "they each represent a wealth of knowledge and experience, and demonstrate our commitment to having the best people to help clients achieve their goals."

Stephen Lowe, Corporate Advisory Team

Lucy de Latour, Resource Management & Environmental Law Team

Lucy is a resource management and local government specialist.  Her work, since joining Wynn Williams in 2013, has primarily been in relation to issues associated with freshwater management, the Canterbury rebuild and a range of retail and industrial developments throughout New Zealand.  Her experience elsewhere in New Zealand and in London has also encompassed work within energy (hydro-electricity generation), retail, and infrastructure sectors (rail, wastewater, ports and airports).  She is recommended by the 2017 Asia Pacific Legal 500 for her work in Resource Management.

Lucy has detailed knowledge of district and regional plan formation and plan change processes, resource consent applications, resource management related law reform and local government and public works legislation.  Lucy also recently spent over a year on secondment at a major local government client, giving her a unique perspective on legal issues facing local government.

Matthew Couch, Commercial Property & Projects Team

Matthew has extensive commercial property experience both in New Zealand and in the UK. His specialist areas of focus are large scale property acquisitions and disposals, commercial leasing, unit title developments and property financing.  Matthew acts for both commercial landlords and tenants, and a number of leading property developers, across a variety of projects.  He says "I work closely with my clients to enable me to have a client-focussed approach and use my legal experience in a straightforward way to facilitate transactions and obtain commercially valuable outcomes for clients."

Matthew's transaction history includes numerous office, industrial, retail and multi-unit residential and commercial developments.  He has acted on the acquisition and sale of significant commercial properties throughout New Zealand including for Robt. Jones on the purchase of the AIG building in Auckland's CBD.  Matthew also works closely with the firm's Corporate & Commercial Team on the property aspects of many corporate mergers and acquisitions.
