New Zealand's carpentry Apprentice of the Year to be announced this Friday night

The winner of the Registered Master Builders Carters 2012 Apprentice of the Year will be announced in Wellington this Friday night, October 26.

The announcement will be made at an awards dinner attended by more than 100 industry leaders, young carpentry apprentices and their families. The MC for the evening is comedian Ben Hurley, and Olympic Rowing Bronze Medallist Peter Taylor is guest speaker.

The national winner will be chosen from the nine finalists who won the regional competitions which were held around the country throughout August and September. The announcement of the award will be made around 9.15pm. Reporters and photographers are welcome at this event.

When: Friday 26 October, 6.30 – 10.00pm
Where: Te Wharewaka, Wellington Waterfront
