Residential households in Blenheim and Picton have embraced the kerbside recycling service – now the Council wants to gauge the level of interest in recycling within the commercial sector.

At present there is not enough data available about the waste generated by the commercial sector so a survey has been set up on the Council website to gather this information. The survey also asks the commercial sector to consider how a recycling service should be funded, were one to be established.

There is no formal proposal to introduce recycling for the commercial sector at this stage but the issue will be discussed at a future meeting of Council’s Assets and Services Committee.

The survey closes Friday 14 December 2012.
