'The Hobbit' super fan on the red carpet

Fervent Hobbit fan and online ‘Rings’ commentator Larry D Curtis has flown into Wellington, New Zealand, to track the action around the world première of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Larry, who is senior contributor of TheOneRing.net - the world’s biggest online community for Tolkien fans - has taken over the 100% Pure New Zealand social channels to provide fans with a real time view of what's going on in the ‘Middle of Middle-earth’ before, during and after the première celebrations.

Arriving in New Zealand from the USA, the super fan tweeted: "I feel relaxed, as always, to be back in NZ. There are signs and talk of The Hobbit everywhere. Guess who won the on-plane riddle trivia? 8)"

Fans can follow and connect with Larry on #realmiddleearth as he discovers Wellington, goes cast-spotting and takes in the buzz of the première city.

Today’s adventures include a behind-the-scenes visit to Wellington-based Weta Workshop and Weta Digital where he posted a photo of himself holding "a pretty cool sword!" Earlier, he was on hand as The Hobbit stars arrived at Wellington Airport on Air New Zealand’s new Middle-earth themed Boeing 777.

On première day tomorrow (28.11.2012), Larry will be with the stars on the red carpet capturing the atmosphere and sharing cast and crew travel recommendations.
