Cyclists and walkers are now able to enjoy the section of Taipo Stream Pathway recently completed from Church Road to Balmoral Street.

The joint Napier City Council and Hawke’s Bay Regional Council project is an important link in the national Water Trail ride. It also fits in with the Napier City Council’s cycling strategy, which seeks to provide safe, off-road cycling and walking opportunities, and links into the city’s cycling network.

The three-metre wide, all-weather concrete path meanders for 1.3 kilometres through grassed and treed reserve, following the Taipo Stream.

In six months time, the Council will reconsider on a proposed section of Pathway through Willow Drive, from Balmoral Street to Neeve Road.
