Old Waimakariri Bridge reopens to traffic

Old Waimakariri Bridge will reopen to traffic later this evening (Friday 4 January).

The bridge was closed on Wednesday afternoon due to high river levels. The water levels have since subsided, enabling engineers to assess the structure and deem it safe.
