Taupō District is set to be entertained on Waitangi Day with the Waitangi – Taupō  Moana 2013 festival, featuring Ardijah and other music, entertainment, games and activities. Entry to the event is FREE for everyone. The celebrations will be held on Wednesday 6 February from 12.00pm to 5.00pm at Riverside Park, Taupō.

Funk rock/reggae band Ardijah will be the headlining act at the festival. The band formed in 1979 and has produced a string of hits that have topped New Zealand charts for many years. There will also be local musicians, kapa haka performances and arts and culture exhibitions.

Along with the live entertainment, kids will be catered for with activities such as bouncy castles, amusements, games, spot prizes and giveaways. Waka ama and other river activities will also be available to get involved with.

FREE buses will run from Turangi and Mangakino to help the community get to and from the event. There are limited spaces so bookings are essential.
