Te Awamutu-trained four-year-old Moneytree is a Cups horse in the making.

The Keith and Brendon Hawtin-trained galloper scored another win at Ellerslie last Saturday to maintain an excellent career record.

“The win was well deserved as he has had nine starts this preparation and picked up three wins as well as not having finishing further back than fifth on six other occasions,” said Brendon Hawtin.

Moneytree will have his next start in a rating 85 event over 2200m at Ellerslie on April 13 and he will then have a well deserved break.

“We think he is a Cups horse in the making but it takes time. He is certainly heading in the right direction,” says Hawtin.

Moneytree is owned by Geoff and Pam Brindley who have enjoyed great success as racehorse owners over many years.

“The Hawtins do a fabulous job and we are pleased to have Money Tree in their stable,” Pam Brindley said.
Pam and Geoff Brindley purchased Money Tree for $26,000 at the 2010 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sales at Karaka.

Money Tree provided Hong Kong jockey Kevin Leung with his first winning ride in New Zealand in the Ellerslie event.

“That was an extra thrill about the win to give Kevin Leung his first New Zealand winner,” said Pam Brindley.
