Dimension Data New Zealand Opens Dunedin Office

Dimension Data New Zealand has opened a regional office in Dunedin, following the organisation’s recent contract wins with the University of Otago and PGG Wrightson.

Simon Gillespie, Dimension Data New Zealand CEO, says, “The opening of the Dunedin office demonstrates our commitment to our clients, as well as our desire to play a key role as part of Dunedin’s ICT provider community.

“Dunedin is a vibrant, bustling economy and we’re excited about investing in the area. The new office will support the growth in our business, and more importantly, offer better support for our Dunedin clients. Dimension Data’s contracts with the University of Otago and PGG Wrightson are pivotal wins for us, and these have enabled us to open this office and provide employment for eight staff in the region, half of whom have been sourced locally,” Gillespie says.

The University of Otago chose Dimension Data as its preferred Network Services Partner for the transformation of its multi-campus LAN and Wireless network, which includes a five-year support agreement and a programme that will modernise the University’s network environment.

“This world-class university is an integral aspect of Otago’s culture and demographic, and we are proud to be involved in this programme and share its vision for modernising its network and providing a seamless, connected experience for students and staff on campus. We’re also pleased to be offering an internship to one University of Otago student,” Gillespie says.

PGG Wrightson appointed Dimension Data to provide advanced Unified Communications services, as it looks to improve efficiency and effectiveness among its global, mobile workforce.

The ceremony at 414 Moray Place last night was officiated by Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull. Dimension Data clients, employees and vendor partners also attended the ceremony.
