Agribusiness receives recognition for services

Sustainable Water Limited, an Ashburton based agricultural water management company, has received recognition from one of the premier New Zealand business awards being selected as a finalist in it’s category for 2013. Sustainable Water Limited was nominated along with over 150 other Canterbury businesses for the Champion Canterbury Business Awards in June and entered the small enterprise category of Champion Professional Service; this category recognised excellence in professional service support, contributing towards creating a vibrant economy.

Three finalists are now left competing in the category and Sustainable Water Limited is proud to represent the rural sector of Canterbury, marketing manager Fraser Chirnside comments, ‘we’re up against an IT provider and a Law firm, both based in Christchurch, it’s important that the agricultural industry is represented in these sorts of high profile events and great for the Ashburton district as well, we feel really honored to be given this opportunity.’

Up to 36 business and community leaders make up the Judging Panel who will be busy over the next month making their final decisions before the Awards Ceremony evening held at the CBS Canterbury Arena on Wednesday 2nd October, 2013. This is the largest business Awards ceremony held in New Zealand each year with an expected 1,100 attendants, including leading Canterbury businesses and VIP’s.

Sustainable Water has been servicing the greater demand from the Canterbury rural sector to manage water more efficiently. Their services include; resource management, irrigation and effluent storage, irrigation design, and water loss recovery. With the consultation of experts in engineering and technologies, Sustainable Water Limited is proactive in developing equipment targeted at transforming current systems within the industry and maintaining alignment with evolving compliance requirements. Water loss identification and analysis technology also enables Sustainable Water Limited to offer the most effective remediation of existing irrigation infrastructure in New Zealand.

The Champion Canterbury Business Awards celebrate business excellence, passion and success recognising the contribution both small, medium and large enterprises make to the vitality of the Canterbury region. The inaugural Champion Canterbury Business Awards were held in 2003. Since then each year the Awards have grown both in terms of entries and attendees at the Awards Ceremony. The Awards are an excellent opportunity for a private/public sector partnership to work in a unified way towards the common goal of acknowledging and championing the Canterbury business community and tickets to the Awards ceremony are open to the public for purchase.
