New Plymouth teen taking to the airwaves about local politics
Michael Riley, a 15 year old Spotswood College student in New Plymouth is this morning taking to the airwaves about local politics and how it heavily effects youth of today.
He will be speaking about the relevance politics has to youth and how young people can get involved in politics.
Michael Riley has created a Facebook page so youth can get involved locally in the New Plymouth District Elections coming up in October.
On the page, youth have discussed openly to the public about issues like the 'Pig Out Point No Rubbish Bins' saga, and how WOMAD will be staying for another three years thanks to the tick off from the local council.
Numerous Candidates running for the local elections have already given the page a like and the page has received lots of feedback "which was the whole point of the page, to get youth involved in politics" Michael said.
